About Larry Bangs
I have devoted almost all of my professional life to learning about and working with people (often families) who own and manage their own business. Recently I spent a year and a half consulting and coaching major corporations, in particular Shell and Boeing. It was a tremendous learning experience, and the simple fact is that I’m not comfortable in large corporate environments. My passion is small business. In addition to coaching hundreds of businesses over the past 25+ years, I have taken full or part-time positions in both the profit and non-profit worlds:
Legislative Aide and speechwriter for Senator George McGovern
Communications Department Manager and Assistant Director for International Programs For Werner Erhard
International Operations Manager for Computerland
Director of International Management Consulting and Training for The Breakthrough Foundation (non-profit)
Temporary CEO for Prescience Corporation
COO for Robinson & Muenster, Inc. and Frankenfeld & Associates
Executive Director and CFO for Culinary School of the Rockies
Senior Consultant with JMJ Associates
Over the years, I have developed a whole set of “tools” and best practices for small businesses. I have led more workshops than I can remember and facilitated dozens of strategic planning retreats. I have also put together and successfully marketed a number of specialized workshops for small business owners: "Building a Visionary Business," "The Basics of Strategic Planning," "Effective Enrollment – The Key to Increasing Sales Effectiveness," "Business Ethics," and "Communicating Internally or We Have Met the Enemy and He is Us."
